You can opt for these workshops to be asynchronous and open to you 24/7, you may participate from your home or work computer during hours that are best for your work and family schedule.  The regular cost of online coures is $125 and $175 with Illinois State Board of Education CPDU or CEU certification.  

One day, on-site Professional Development events are offered quarterly for a fee of $225 per participant and $275 with Illinois State Board of Education CPDU or CEU certification.  

Urban Edu Coach also offers a 3 day, on-ste Professional Development Event for educators who work with unmotivated students in secondary and post secondary settings.  Revisit our website for updates and information.

Digital Problem or Project Based Learning
Participants will explore the advantages of Project Based Learning within the framework of Common Core Standards that focuses on free electronic tools and instructional activities for learning in the digital age. Participants will create projects driven by essential questions, build capacity for generating critical thinking in students, explore Backwards Design, and strategically evaluate and categorize PBL electronic supports. Participants will re-invent Project-Based Learning by creating real-world projects for digital natives utilizing Web-based and 2.0 electronic tools; connecting learners through guided inquiry utilizing electronic sources. Participants learn to weave multimedia into project based learning.

Writing Across the Curriculum Within the Framework of Common Core State Standards for the 21st Century

R.E.S.T.O.R.E. Reaching Each Student Teaching Open-mindedness Respect & Empathy
Description: Focusing on restorative classroom management practices, participants will explore research, engage in exploratory discussion, and make judgments regarding whether or not incorporating technology in the classroom is an instant deterrence for many inappropriate behaviors. Participants will explore restorative practices including peace circles, peer jury, and positive classroom management interventions. They will formulate opinions about restorative practices and how these practices can be used as classroom management tools. Participants will then create a Restorative Classroom Management Plan utilizing electronic sources that includes a system for monitoring positive interactions with learners using digital tools that motivate, track, and alert.

Digitalized Small Group Dynamics

Participants will also explore various web based 2.0 tools to make informed decisions regarding their use in the small group instruction to enhance student learning.

Integrating Social Media Instructional Strategies
This workshop will explore effective ways to use social media for communication with parents, in the classroom and for personal professional development. Learn how to use social networks and cloud-based tools including Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, and other personal learning networks. Designed for elementary, middle school, and high school classroom teachers, special education teachers, guidance counselors, school administrators and support staff at all levels. Participants will explore basic understanding of how to sign up for accounts using web-based tools and a willingness to explore social media instructional strategies. Participants will engage in social media strategies for professional development, global collaborative initiatives, learning community development and collaborations. Digital citizenship and learning outcomes and assessment using social media will also be imparted.

Games for Learning, Rubrics, and Assessment
This workshop designed for educators and trainers interested in learning about game-based learning and assessment.
